The Emerging Tech Impact Cohort

The Emerging Tech Impact Cohort is a 7-week, hybrid learning experience that equips Staten Island high school students with foundational AI literacy, problem-solving skills, and hands-on project experience. Students work in teams to identify real community challenges and design responsible, tech-informed solutions, culminating in a public Tech Showcase at CSI’s new Innovation Hub space.

  • Program Start: May 12, 2026

  • Timeframe: 4:30pm to 6:30pm

  • Weekly in-person session

  • Location: 35B Bay Street

  • Build a real project with a team

  • Learn how AI actually works

  • Create a pitch deck like startups do

  • Present at a Tech Showcase

  • Walk away with a certificate of completion

What you will do

  • Week 1: Team formation

  • Week 2: AI introduction

  • Week 3: Coding basics

  • Week 4: Design thinking

  • Weeks 5–7: Pitch deck development

  • Final event: Tech Showcase

Students gain practical, future-ready skills while building confidence. Your partnership is the difference-maker in recruiting strong student teams.

  • Passion for mentorship, innovation, and giving back

Requirements:

  • Earn a $1,000 stipend for your time

  • Apply your skills in a real-world, community program

  • Gain mentorship experience, leadership, communication, and teamwork skills

  • Create meaningful local impact

  • Participate in a public Tech Showcase
