New York, NY — August 27, 2025 — The College of Staten Island (CUNY) Innovation Hub took center stage at BaddieCon 2025, the third annual “Baddies in Tech” conference, held August 21–23 in New York City. The event brought together women leaders, innovators, and industry experts in artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, leadership growth, and startup development.
Representing CSI was Luis Martinez, MSOL, Director of the Innovation Hub, which houses the state-funded AR/VR Lab and Tech Incubator at Lighthouse Point. Martinez attended with a clear mission: to recruit mentors, partners, and speakers for CSI’s accelerator programs, spotlight the hub’s cutting-edge facilities, and connect women in tech with opportunities in internships, founder support, and applied-research projects.
“BaddieCon is where innovation and access meet,” Martinez said. “CSI’s Innovation Hub is proud to champion pathways for women in tech—from hands-on AR/VR and AI projects to startup acceleration and career mobility.”
Now in its third year, BaddieCon has emerged as a premier platform for women in technology, providing access to industry insights, networking, and career development. With its 2025 program placing special emphasis on AI, cybersecurity, and leadership mobility, the event aligned directly with CSI Innovation Hub’s mission to support entrepreneurs, innovators, and workforce development across Staten Island and beyond.
By participating in BaddieCon, CSI reinforced its commitment to bridging the gap between education, technology, and career opportunities—ensuring women and underrepresented communities gain access to the tools, mentorship, and networks necessary to thrive in emerging industries.
Do you want me to also draft a shorter blog-style version (more conversational, less formal) that could live on CSI’s website or LinkedIn? That way you’ll have both a news release and a community-facing recap.
